Soccer vs. soap

'Things are not as usual' at Skema Chocolate Bar and Restaurant, a hangout near Makerere University famous for its screening of Premier League matches. On Tuesdays at 8 p.m., soccer enthusiasts gather there to enjoy chips and chaps as well as watch Premier League reviews. Now, at precisely the same time and day, WBS TV screens the now addictive Woman of My Life TV soap. Female university students who have no TV sets in their rooms but would rather miss heaven than the soap, have turned to their charm and persuaded management to switch from soccer to soap. The switch has the backing from some lads who have a thing for the gorgeous Barbarita in just the same way these girls would kill to watch the hunky Antonio. And the storyline is now upbeat following the recent 'death' of Valentino. The guys are anxiously waiting to see how things on the set unfold.
